Ned Davis addresses CFA Tampa Bay MeetingNovember 2008

Sell Out Event at Laurel Oak Country Club in Sarasota.

Ned Davis and John E. LaForge, III of Ned Davis Research spoke to packed house on November 12.  The presentation entitled Market Insights, Trends and Risks was a valuable benefit for CFA Tampa Bay members and their guests.

Diane M. Huntley, CFA  of Northern Trust was our Market Maven.  She was awarded a Shell Gas card for submitting the closest answer to our October Question on the Month.

CFA Tampa Bay Society Meeting

Our 3rd Annual Hedge Fund/Economics Panel on October 14 was a sell out.  Moderator Vinny Catalano, CFA, of Blue Marble Research was joined by panelists D. Scott Luttrell of LCM Group and David A. Henwood of Raymond James.

October marked the introduction of our market maven questions.  Each month, we will be asking meeting attendees to make predictions.  Our question and response chart for October is below.

In Memoriam - Paul Anderson
Former CFA Tampa Bay President, Paul M. Anderson, passed away September 18, 2008.  He is survived by his wife Penny and his daughter Kari.  Paul was a portfolio manager with BNY Mellon. Previously he had worked for Bank of America.  His friendship and leadership will be missed by all of us.

The Anderson Family would like to continue Paul's passion for helping young people further their education by helping them pay for college expenses, such as, tuition and books. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:
